The Marfa weeHouse

The Marfa weeHouse has just two rooms, an all-in-one living space and a bathroom. The living space has a bed placed in the middle of the room with a kitchenette and dining area at one end and a small sitting area at the other end. Custom cabinetry and wood finishes dress up the room. The surprisingly large and luxurious bathroom has both a shower and a bathtub. A separate shed houses the laundry machines and hot water tank. Designed by Geoffrey Warner of Alchemy Architects.

This music video was made in a garage and done in four days. Don't ever try to tell me that great things can't come from humble places.

Canopy And Stars

Yesterday I featured a lovely yurt getaway in Devon, UK and now here's the source, Canopy and Stars, a travel website that offers "glamping" (defined as glamour camping).

Unique and out of the way lodging, for unique people, in unique and out of the places.

You can search for and book all sorts of "rustic" accommodations through the site and while most are located in the UK, France, Spain and Portugal are also offered. With more exposure, I'm confidant the site's offerings will expand.

A lot of tents and yurts, but also a fare amount of cottages and other even more offbeat places to stay. My favorite? A converted elephant trainer's wagon (pictured above right) in Alicante, Spain for $114 a night.
